Holly Hunter, an American actress and film producer is well-known for her stellar performance in films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. The movie Piano has won several awards for her which included an Oscar. The accomplished actress started her career in acting in the theatre with an array of Broadway and Off-Broadway shows. She has always had an interest in acting since she was in school. Her debut role in a show in the fifth grade was as Helen Keller. Her mumps left her deaf and blind in one ear. But she didn't let this to hinder her ambitions of becoming an actress. In her early years, she was a drama student in the college level and then moved from Pittsburgh to New York City from Pittsburgh in order to pursue her ambitions. Hunter had her Broadway debut following an unplanned encounter in the company of Beth Henley, a playwright. They collaborated on Broadway Crimes of the Heart. After that, she moved into Los Angeles and tried to land films roles. For Swing Shift, she landed the role of a back-up. For the past 30 years she's appeared in various TV series and movies. Holly Hunter is a Hollywood Walk of Fame famous person as well as a winner of the Women in Film Lucy Award.
