Holly Hunter is an American producer and actress who has been recognized for her high-quality performance in films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. Holly Hunter has won numerous awards which included an Oscar for her film Piano. The accomplished actress started her acting career in the theatre through a variety of Broadway and Off-Broadway shows. The actress is a lover of acting ever since she started school. Her first role in a production in fifth grade was Helen Keller. Her mumps left her deaf and blind in one ear. But she did not allow this hinder her progress as an actress. The college she attended was drama before moving to Pittsburgh and moved to New York City to follow her dreams. Hunter had her Broadway debut after a chance conversation with Beth Henley, a playwright. The two worked together on Broadway Crimes of the Heart. As she settled in Los Angeles, she began to search for film roles. Her first film role was in the role of an actress playing the main character in Swing Shift. In the last three decades she's appeared in numerous TV shows and films. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star and the Women in Film Lucy Award.
